A New Light on the Netherlands

"I used to think beauty belonged elsewhere. But travelling through the Netherlands taught me that wonder is often much closer than we imagine."
Gosse Bouma

In A New Light on The Netherlands, award-winning Dutch artist Gosse Bouma takes his instantly recognizable light with him while broadening his horizon from the capital of The Netherlands, to the whole of his motherland.

A country often described as ‘small’ unfolds here differently. Scale recedes and time swells; what matters is how light
moves across the land, how it briefly gathers and shifts.
The Netherlands, seen anew.

Following his international success with A New Light on Amsterdam, Bouma now casts his unique view on countryside misty mornings and dreamlike cityscapes, while playing with natural conditions on both iconic and lesser-known corners of the land.

This is not an objective survey of the Netherlands.
It is, unmistakably, Bouma's Netherlands.
